Why MP3 Audio Books are Still Pricey
It is interesting to note that the prices of mp3 audio books are often kept artificially higher than printed books by book distributors themselves so that audio books will not take a large chunk of the business done by traditional publishing. This is especially apparent with firms that do both audio book publishing and print publishing. Titles that are exclusively published in audio book format also often priced quite high due to low relative volumes of production. It is then apparent that the industry as of this moment has not matured or reached its full potential.
