The effects of acid reflux
Acid reflux or heartburn, commonly known as gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), which is the flowing back of the acidic juices from the stomach up into the esophagus. Because the lining of the esophagus does not have adequate defense against the harmful effects of stomach acid, which causes inflammation, and sometimes even ulceration, causes a burning pain known as heartburn. Acid reflux is not a real disease, it is the result of improper eating and digestive functions. Acid reflux leads to heartburn, and the pain felt through acid reflux can be similar to angina, which is a serious heart condition.
