Doctoral Studies from the Earliest Times
Even though an individual was said to be a doctor if they were involved in medicine, some of the earlier doctoral studies actually had more to do with law. This is the case whenever the title was first given to individuals and it meant having a doctorate in law, not in medicine. Of course, most people equate it with being medicinal in nature at this point but it actually can be attached to any field of study, provided the individual is willing to study long enough at that particular subject. Things do change over time, and this is only one example of that.
