If you want to play guitar for long periods of time you absolutely need to be using the right techniques. If you want to play at shows that last four or five hours you need to be doing things right. acoustic guitar playing is a lot of work when you are holding your guitar the wrong way. If you do a little research you can find out what works for other people. If all else fails try asking someone you see playing out somewhere what works best for them.
